“This is the first time to my knowledge we are holding a restaurant week,” said former HRC Executive Director Mica McCullough, who had been in her role for 10-plus years. “[And if so] it’s been a first in a longtime.”

And while the concept has been done in other places, McCullough said the essence of the HRC is the tourism factor and to bring people into downtown Hammonton whether for a date night, family stroll, and/or to shop.

And what to expect is open ended. A number of restaurants will offer a pre-fixed three-menu course meal. As discussions unfolded, some restaurants will showcase new menu items for patrons to try.

Discounts and a number of specials will be offered throughout the week.

The HRC formed in 1984 as a committee of the Greater Hammonton Chamber of Commerce to revitalize and strengthen the economy of Downtown Hammonton. In 1993, the program achieved official recognition as a MainStreet America community through the MainStreet New Jersey program.

Part of attracting businesses and people downtown are the number of events that they produce, partner to host, or help promote. And now Restaurant Week will be added to the list.

Restaurant Week is the start of a number of concept events planned for 2025. With six vintage, antique stores in the downtown, they are planning an Antique Week starting on March 6, 2025.

And many more are to follow as the HRC district has over 100 businesses.
