Saturday, July 18, 5 – 8 p.m. Perkins Center for the Arts Artist Reception for Kathy Anne English’s show “Painting America.” Perkins Center for the Arts, 395 Kings Highway. This summer, the Moorestown Gallery opens its doors to Painting America, a breathtaking solo exhibition by self-taught watercolor artist Kathy Anne English running from July 6 through August 14, 2026.

The exhibition represents an incredible artistic milestone: a massive collection featuring one original painting from each of the 50 states. The project grew out of an idea English conceived at just 20 years old and ultimately brought to life over a four-year period. Together with her husband, she embarked on five separate cross-country journeys, tracking down some of the most beautiful landscapes and wildlife our nation has to offer.

By featuring a dedicated piece from every single state, Painting America acts as a visual travelogue that honors the quiet majesty of our public lands while encouraging observers to explore, respect, and protect the country’s natural wonders. The delicate texture of her watercolors evokes the absolute stillness of the wilderness, demonstrating a masterful ability to layer light, weather, and wildlife into a singular narrative.

To experience this sprawling collection and celebrate the artist’s journey in person, make plans to attend the official Artist’s Reception.

Gather at 395 Kings Highway to meet Kathy Anne English, hear the stories behind her travels, and join neighbors for an evening dedicated to local art.

Saturday, September 19, 9 a.m. 2026 British & Hessian Retreat Fun Run. Main Street.  Back by ridiculous demand! Moorestown250 presents: The 2026 British & Hessian Retreat Fun Run, a signature event for the nation’s 250th Anniversary! During the American Revolution, 7,700 British and Hessian troops retreated from Philadelphia, storming through Moorestown. They looted homes, burned fields, and famously snatched 40 chickens from the Smith-Cadbury Mansion to roast them right in the parlor! Now, 250 years later, it’s time to settle the score.

Join us for a lively, family-friendly 1-mile “retreat” through historic Moorestown. We’re retracing the steps of the invading soldiers, “returning” stolen goods, and celebrating our community’s incredible history with more speed and spirit than ever before. Starts at 9 a.m. sharp.

The Mission: Run, walk, or march to chase the Hessians out of town! To sponsor this awesome event, email juliemaravich@gmail.com
