Hello 08840! Spring, you are here! Who is ready to enjoy the warmer weather and spend some time outdoors?! I am excited for you to check out our Spring edition magazine dedicated to the lifestyle and community of Metuchen.

We start our issue with Anthony and Donna Campisi, who have been at the helm of New Pearl Cleaners for over three decades at the corner of New and Pearl streets. Their story begins in Brooklyn, N.Y. where Anthony essentially was born into the dry-cleaning business. His father started the business right after World War II. Not only does the couple run New Pearl Cleaners plus now a Dante Zelle Tuxedo, they have been embedded in the community for over 40 years. They raised their three children in town and now have five grandchildren. Learn about their history starting on page 5.

Next we follow the aroma to Be My Guest Catering, your go-to destination for all things meal prep and more. John Manzo has found a niche market in the meal prep category creating meals like Muscle Builder, Protein Power Bowls, Cuban Mojo Por, Maple Ginger Chicken, Lean Machine, and many more options. He also caters large and small events where he offers homemade pasta, vegetarian dishes, chicken, meat and many other add-ons as well as international fare. Follow the aroma starting on page 10.

We round our issue at Runner’s High. Few business owners can say their brick-and-mortar store survived Superstorm Sandy, the cultural transition to online shopping, and COVID-19. Runner’s High on Main Street can. Meet Owner Rob DeFilippis. He wasn’t born an avid runner. But with the support of a high school gym teacher, eventual success as a D1 cross country and track athlete, and some brand deals after college graduation, he’s now “53, broken ribs, still running, coaching track, and owning two stores… it’s all been integrated into a nice little package.” Listen to his story starting on page 14.

Also check keep up with the latest in Metuchen on the Move on Page 18 find out what our neighbors have to say on page 2. All of this and more awaits on the pages ahead!

Enjoy!
