Fittingly enough, attention to detail is what sets Minor Details Philly apart from the big-box retail stores selling sports apparel and accessories. This boutique shop selling Philly-inspired sportswear and gifts for women hit the scene in September and has been going strong ever since.
Owner Mallory Minor opened her original store in Manayunk in the fall of 2023 and made a name for herself selling Taylor Swift-related items when the pop star’s Eras tour first started, and things took off from there. Minor is thrilled with the success of her stores, but running a retail business was never in her plans.
“It’s actually a really crazy story,” says Minor. “I used to work as a project manager at a construction firm, and I got laid off in March of 2023. While I was looking for another job, I started an Etsy shop selling Taylor Swift memorabilia, and it just took off.”
She sold more than 5,000 items on Etsy, mainly from her original screen-printed Swift merchandise, and decided not to go back into the traditional workforce. Minor started out making all of her designs by hand and eventually began carrying items from local vendors and artists.
With the opening of her second storefront in Fishtown, Minor has moved away from the Swift memorabilia and more into her line of hand-designed Philly sports apparel. She curates 70% of her items, with the rest made in-house. Her top sellers include stylish beaded bags and keychains featuring Philly sports teams and sweatshirts and tees hyping the Eagles with sayings like “Bird Gang” and “Pretty girls watch the birds.”

“It’s fun to tie fashion trends to Philly sports culture and give women a place to shop for cute sports merch that you don’t get at the big pro shops,” says Owner Mallory Minor, who opened Minor Details Philly, a boutique shop selling Philly-inspired sportswear and gifts that hit the scene in Fishtown in September.
“It’s fun to tie fashion trends to Philly sports culture and give women a place to shop for cute sports merch that you don’t get at the big pro shops,” says Minor. “I have a lot of items that are truly made from scratch, one-of-a-kind products, and once they’re gone, they’re gone.”
When she began looking to expand, she originally thought she would find a place in Center City, but rent was high and the right space was hard to find. A friend convinced her to take a walk through Fishtown one afternoon and she was impressed by all of the new stores and restaurants that had moved into the community.
“I never imagined that I’d wind up in Fishtown,” says Minor. “My friend and I were walking down Frankford Avenue, and we just happened to come across a storefront for lease. It was a brand-new space, and it was nice because I got to use my construction background and build out the space with a contractor to make it exactly how I wanted it to be. It’s double the size of our Manayunk store, and it’s the perfect location for me.”
Minor is settling into the new space and is already thinking about adding a third or fourth location in the future. Her goal is to eventually bring production in-house, including screen printers and embroiderers, to reduce costs and cut down on turnaround times for new products.
“I’m really looking forward to 2026,” says Minor. “It’s been really cool to see the up-and-coming of the neighborhood here and become part of the community.” She encourages other female entrepreneurs to take a chance and try new things, whatever that means for them.
“If you’re thinking about doing something new and are unsure about how to move forward, just pull the trigger and try it,” says Minor. “I believe there’s space for everybody looking to create a life doing something they enjoy, especially women small business owners. Believe in yourself and trust the process and things will unfold naturally. You never know where you’ll wind up!”
The new location of Minor Details Philly is 2023 Frankford Ave., minordetailsphilly.com.
