Hello 08037! Fall season is here and I am ready! I love the colors of fall and the cooler air. Oh and who is ready for everything pumpkin – picking, spice latte, pie?! We are excited for you to check out our Fall edition magazine dedicated to the lifestyle and community of Hammonton.

We start our issue at Hammonton Center, a 220-bed skilled nursing facility on North White Horse Pike that offers short-term rehabilitation as well as long-term care. On the journey back to wellness after surgery or an injury, the facility can be a help to the local community. “With a mission to get you stronger, we focus on individualizing the perfect rehab plan for you,” says Jamie Argiropoulos, director of rehabilitation. Learn about the center on page 4.

Next we head to the annual Puerto Rican Festival that celebrated 66 years of traditions with music and food in August. The four-day festival commenced on Aug. 24 with a Sunday mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, followed by a flag raising at Hammonton Town Hall. The festival continued the next weekend at the Puerto Rican Civic Clubhouse with music, food and camaraderie. Follow the festivities on page 6.

Mid-way we visit 2-year-old Tater Tot – a Bernedoodle therapy dog – at the early Childhood Education Center. He was a “natural fit” for the Hammonton schools and he is in his second year lighting up faces along the way. “He genuinely believes everyone he meets is his best friend, and he brings so much joy wherever her goes,” explains Chrissanne L. Hansbury, occupational therapist at Hammonton schools. Meet Tater Tot on page 10.

We round our issue at Sweetwater Marina & Riverdeck. Mike and Kim “Kimmie” Iles have “poured their hearts and souls into this place,” according to Gia Marini. She serves as guest services coordinator, server and personal assistant to Kimmie. The couple bought and converted the historic Sweetwater Casino into the Sweetwater Marina & Riverdeck in 2016. Dock and stay a while on page 12.

Our Expert Contributor piece on page 18 will fill you in on “The Benefits of Choosing a Locally Owned Dental Practice” and “It was a no brainer” on Page 20 and Hammonton Happenings on page 22 will connect you to future community events. All of this and more awaits on the pages ahead!

Enjoy!
